Trades stilled on CDNX after cable cut

The article focuses on how trading on the Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) was suspended for over three hours yesterday after the accidental cutting of a fiber-optic cable that connects the CDNX computer systems. Nortel Networks Corp. has teamed up with Sprint Canada Inc. to find the cause of the problem and make sure service to CDNX continues.

CDNX set for Toronto expansion

Canadian Venture Exchange, which is a new junior capitalization stock exchange, has announced that it will open a corporate office in Toronto, Ontario. CDNX, which has a roster of 2,500 firms, has the support of some major institutional investors for its expansion plans.
