Troubled ComStream division boosts Spar's third-quarter loss

Spar Aerospace Ltd. is looking forward to report better earnings after it has sold its money-losing ComStream division. Spar Aerospace President and CEO Colin Watson reported that the company incurred a onetime loss of C$20.2 million on the sale of ComStream as well as a C$8.7 million in operating losses after the company decided to suspend the division's operations. Watson stated that Spar Aerospace lost a total of C$7.9 million on revenue for the third quarter that concluded on Sep. 30, 1998.
