When a tiny taut gesture upstages demons and noise

Article Abstract:

Sony Computer Entertainment America's Ico action game for PlayStation 2, the characters' sense of reality is heightened via motion-capture technology. The $49.99 game is also enhanced by highly intelligent villains and gorgeous graphics with the player in charge of the protagonists. The subtleties in movement and sound evoke the action and the characters' personalities. 3Do's Portal Runner game for PlayStation 2, $49.95 is also a puzzle-solving game like Ico, part of 3DO's Army Men series. With a silly plot, the game is mostly gawdy fun in a prehistoric setting with a feisty heroine in Vikki, she of many costume changes.

Fate isn't final, and death is just a setback

Article Abstract:

Called compelling, Konami's new adventure game, 'Shadow of Destiny,' is deceptively simple. The more it is played, the more the complexities it reveals. It has several endings and several solutions to prevent murders. The fascinating content of this game is spoiled by its uninspired translation and acting. The game has one known programming glitch. $49.99 for the PlayStation 2. Presto Studio's Myst III: Exile adventure game features beautiful scenery and engaging puzzles. The slide-show aspect that plagued its predecessors is gone, and the narrative is more lively.
