A TAP by another name: Does it matter that fund managers are calling the new MLIS a TAP?

Article Abstract:

The advent of the new market-linked income stream (MLIS) is causing confusion as the MLIS, which came into existence on September 20, 2004 is being renamed as a term-allocated pension (TAP) by fund managers. Some features are presented which do not apply to the market-linked stream, as MLIS and a TAP are one and the same, but allocated pensions are different.
