Blind faith no more

Article Abstract:

Peter Hall, fund manager of the Hunter Hall Investment Management group, has had his share of good fortune with 68% gain in the Value Growth Trust, in spite of troubles with Kresta, which comprises 5.6% of the trust portfolio. Hunter Hall is disputing the appointment of two new board members and alleged the company would not provide them with background information on the board members or a plan on the steps the company would be taking to turn around multi-million dollar losses.

Turkey by bus and boat

Article Abstract:

Turkey, the third fastest growing tourist market of the world, offers some good values for those trying to stretch the Australian dollar, which is down. For Australians, the highlight of a trip to Turkey might be a visit to Gallipoli, where Australian forces once fought under great hardship.

The road to riches is paved with good imputations

Article Abstract:

Dividend imputation is designed to keep the government from charging twice the amount of tax on the profits made by a company. Prior to dividend imputation a company paid taxes on its profits and the shareholders were taxed again on the income derived from the dividends. With dividend imputation the taxpayer or shareholder can claim a rebate for the money paid by the corporate tax.
