Do-it-yourself (DIY) investors have enjoyed much prosperity as more information sites on the Internet offer assistance to small investors. This form of interactive information is available via an institution bulletin board on the Internet, but some pitfall do exist. Recommendations on stocks and managed funds can be attained over InvestorWeb and Financial Analysis Publications Web sites.

The Howard Government's tax plan to help families has been implemented for a full year. However the 1997 Family Tax Initiative rules are complicated and may involve not only the tax office but the Department of Social Security (DSS). The benefits are bestowed either as an increase in the tax-free threshold or a a fortnightly payment from the DSS.
