74-year-old singer and actor, Harry Belafonte spent some of his formative years living with relatives in Jamaica, and it was there that he was exposed to the kind of music that would make him famous as a singer. As an actor, he was strongly influenced by fellow African-American actor Paul Robeson, who he considered to be his role model.
