Now for more superannuation changes

Article Abstract:

The Australian government is committed to give employees a choice in their superannuation funds. Consequently, many employers are replacing their traditional corporate funds with a master fund, which gives them a better range of investment managers, asset classes, and styles. Furthermore, advances in technology are making it possible for employers to provide employees with more choices with relative ease.

We challenge teenagers to invest $15,000

Article Abstract:

Many of Australia's teenagers have never thought about investing money. In a project, Teenager Investor Challenge, Personal Investment magazine selected 6 teenagers and invested $15,000 on their behalf. Although these teenagers will benefit from their investment accounts, other teenagers around Australia may learn from their experience and do the same for themselves.

Our brave new world of choice

Article Abstract:

A change in government policy will allow employees in Jul 1998 to have more control over of their super funds and the ability to select from a number of funds. The issues are still relatively unknown, however, employees will be offered a choice of at least five various fund types. Employees will be forced to take greater responsibility for their own retirement.
