From out of the blue

Article Abstract:

Klamath Lake in Oregon grows some of the richest variety of flora in the US, and edible blue-green algae has become a harvestable cash crop. The algae was consumed by South American peoples before the Spanish settlers came, and was considered one of the most perfect foods available. Scientists agree that the algae has remarkable properties, such as being rich in minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients such as amino acids. The algae is easily harvested by boats, and easily grows back, with no adverse effect upon the lake's ecological system.

Article Abstract:

Peace-building, a long-range strategy to address structural violence, should be employed in Middle Eastern conflicts instead of the deployment of United Nations peace-keeping troops. While the the UN forces have had some success in amelioration of regional conflicts, the underlying issues, such as the lack of a Kurdish or Palestinian homeland, need to be addressed. Middle Eastern states can help build peace by forming regional political and economic organizations which can serve as forums for diplomacy between neighbors.
