Total compensation: pieces of the pie

Article Abstract:

A research is made to relate various compensation strategies with a utilities' competitiveness. Results showed employment security may serve as a form of compensation for employees and that provision of employee benefits increase loyalty. Incentive bonuses are treated as only minor considerations, when compared with employment security and benefits, though they increase job satisfaction. Human resources departments should consider company and area demographics as well as job requirements in planning for a totally competitive compensation program.
