An empirical investigation of factors affecting ethical optimism of nurses

Article Abstract:

The issues of job satisfaction and organizational code of ethics practiced by nurses were addressed through a sample study conducted in a private hospital. The factors considered involved in the ethical behavior of nurses were management responsibility in ensuring ethical behavior, ethical behavior of administrators, knowledge of corporate governance and job commitment. Results revealed that job satisfaction among nurses was associated with ethical behavior and accomplishment. The existence of an ethical code supported the ethical behavior of an organization.

Overcoming the theory/practice opposition in business ethics

Article Abstract:

The practice-immanent theorizing of business ethics deviates from the nonfundamentalist approach and the traditional moral philosophy's dichotomy between theory and practice. The nonfundamentalists believe that construction of theory obviates reflections upon the practice of business ethics. However, the practice-immanent theory is two-fold in its aims. It assists critical reflection and also gains critical perspective on the manner of economic practices.
