What Jim knew and Henry did

Article Abstract:

Former British Foreign Secretary James Callaghan admits the British were prepared to intervene when Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974. The British Prime Minister in 1974 was Harold Wilson who sent a task force to report on the problem. He felt intervention from the US and the British would stop the Turkish invasion. US Foreign Secretary Kissinger strongly discouraged Britain taking an action. It has been suggested the US were not willing to act against Turkey as they wanted to keep secret bases on Cyprus out of communist control.

Expanding the horizon of reflection on health and disease

Article Abstract:

Two approaches have been used to define health and disease. The first was advocated by Christopher Borse and aims to provide a definition independent of broader reflections on ethics and epistemology. The second approach provides broader and pluralistic accounts of concepts of health and disease. Attempts have been made to reconcile the differences between these approaches. However, the major obstacle is the difficulty in finding a suitable conceptualization of the Anglo-American context of health and disease.
