An argument for comprehensive socialism

Article Abstract:

A new approach is proposed for constructing an alternative model of socialism. Such an approach need to consider in totality the real and historical process of capitalism and socialism. This is necessary in the construction of a positive and viable model of socialism. The approach also requires a full theorization of capitalism, and its relationship with markets and planning. Lessons from the decline of the Soviet Union and East European Communist countries, and their experiences of post-capitalist construction also needed to be considered.

Limitations of "don't" instructional control

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of 'don't' or 'stop it' instructions in curbing physical aggression between siblings was assessed and compared to the effectiveness of immediate timeout. The results showed that the 'don't' instructional method wasnot as effective in treating sibling aggression. Therefore, immediate timeout may be an important component in the treatment of sibling aggression. Such treatment is called for when the child learns to be compliant when told to stop but continues to misbehave at unacceptably high rates.
