Are there heroes?

Article Abstract:

The Albanian refugee crisis in Kosovo has complicated guidelines for international assistance, and has revealed the inadequacies of the current humanitarian aid process. Critics question why vast amounts of money have been spent on Kosovo when the United Nation's humanitarian request for Africa has been underfunded by more than three-quarters. As the international relief agencies vied for media coverage in Kosovo, they failed to adequately and efficiently assess the refugee situation.

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the increasing social unrest on the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean, once a popular tourist destination. Instability in the region is due largely to ethnic tensions, causing neighbor nations Australia and New Zealand to reevaluate their foreign policy relations in the Pacific region, whose chronic troubles have been generally overlooked.

Sanctions straitjacket

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed regarding the reevaluation of using economic sanctions to coerce misbehaving states. Countries such as Iraq are defying the sanctions, and Western states are in a situation where either lifting or tightening the sanctions seems equally unpalatable.
