Black ad execs see bright future in field

Article Abstract:

The US advertising industry has a low percentage of African-American employees. Firms are increasingly recruiting people from ethnic minorities in order to become diverse in their operations and be customer-oriented. Previously, blacks and other minorities did not perceive advertising as a promising career due to racial inequalities. The future nevertheless looks optimistic as opportunities expand and hiring practices become more oriented toward minorities.
