Face forward

Article Abstract:

'Face Forward: Young African American Men In A Critical Age' is a book authored by a young black man who experienced bitter racial discrimination in the US. Inspired by his own story and driven by a desire to present a realistic picture of the struggles of African American males, Julian Okwu compiled true-to-life narratives of various black personalities. Included are the stories of Bruce Grady, a theology graduate of Princeton University, Ray Slaughter, a sergeant in the US Marine Reserves, Maurice Ashley, an international chess champion, and Michael Gibson, a motivational speaker who had a history of drug addiction.

The face of terrorism, then and now

Article Abstract:

Terrorist acts need to be examined within their contexts. The reasons behind each act of terrorism are different and cannot be categorized under general headings. These reasons range from political ambitions to new ideologies that evolve in affluent societies. Even the political goals behind these acts are varied. However, attacks that kill civilians are carried out by sick-minds. Extremist groups such as Hamas will not grow if they remain unsupported by the people. But even with the support of the people, terrorism can never be the means to political ends. It just creates a vicious circle.
