The sandwich generation copes with elder care

Article Abstract:

The first wave of baby boomers, those born between 1946 to the mid-1960s, are saddled with several responsibilities which may affect their productivity as employees. They are referred to as the 'sandwich generation' due to their social roles as both parents to their children and children who are tasked with taking care of old and ailing parents. Companies should recognize this growing trend among employee and can them overcome stress and anxiety by providing elder care services as an incentive to enhance worker productivity.

Iraq's frustration boils over

Article Abstract:

There are almost no incentives to encourage Iraqi officials to cooperate with weapon inspections by the UN Special Commission. Since the Gulf War ceasefire in 1991, the United States has placed sanctions on Iraq, including a declaration that the sanctions will not be lifted if the present regime is in power. This gives Iraq little reason to cooperate.

Earnings thresholds related to dividend covers

Article Abstract:

The distribution of earnings surrounding dividend-cover threshold is discussed. The examination of earnings distribution in 2,264 New Zealand firms showed that there is a asymmetry which disappears after a change in legislation that removed the connection between earnings and dividends.
