Japanese reform is not possible unless it confronts past

Article Abstract:

Issues regarding international relations between Japan and the United States are presented, in the context of the rising power of China, which is affecting the relationship which has developed between the two nations. It is observed that the Pentagon has a disproportionate influence on the Asian policy of the United States.

An interview is conducted with the United States deputy secretary of defense Paul Wolfowitz, regarding the international relations between the United States and Japan. It is also observed that other Asian countries such as China could be brought into a prosperous Pacific community.
