The law of the People's Republic of China for the prevention and control of infectious diseases like plague, cholera, viral hepatitis, bacterial and amoebic dysentery is discussed. The law was implemented on September 1, 1989 after its approval at the Sixth Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Seventh National Congress of People's Deputies on February 21, 1989.
