Left-libertarianism, once more: A rejoinder to Vallentyne, Steiner, and Otsuka

Article Abstract:

The belief that Left-libertarians are successful in disarming the right-libertarian claim that self-ownership implies a strong version of inequality is described. The two central claims that self-ownership is an indeterminate concept and versions of left-libertarianism are thinly disguised versions of more familiar forms of liberal egalitarianism is highlighted.

Left-libertarianism: a review essay

Article Abstract:

Focusing on libertarian concept of "self-ownership" and "egalitarian" distribution of natural resources (taxation), the author argues that left-libertarianism is far off from a coherent and distinct philosophical approach. An overview of two works on left-libertarianism, edited by Peter Vallentyne and Hillel Steiner, is used as a starting point.
