Post-traditional civil society and the radical center

Article Abstract:

Many political scientists have called for a sense of community within the nation state. However, this sense of community within the civil society is inseparable from tradition. Tradition rarely leaves room for innovations and social change. To be able to effect social change, there must be a willingness to accept individuation. Tradition often leads to cultural segmentation and social disintegration. Community can only be effective if it acknowledges autonomy and democratization.

Civil society; the space that matters most

Article Abstract:

Civil society should be given due importance in any government. There should be a balance between government policies and business opportunities. Between the government and major business groups should stand the people. Social movements and non-governmental organizations should be granted a certain measure of clout in the formulation of policies to maintain civil balance. This civil balance gives the people an opportunity ot speak out and be heard.
