Poverty, property rights, and human well-being: a cross-national study

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine property rights formation in relation to poverty and human well-being. The 1997 revision made by James Gwartney and Robert Lawson to their previous study on property rights which was conducted in 1996 was made the basis of the investigation. An analysis of numerical rankings of property rights across nations for the period covering 1975 to 1995 reveal that only well-specified property rights improve the well-being of the poorest inhabitants of the world.

Economic freedom, political freedom, and economic well-being: a causality analysis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the relationship between measures of economic freedom, political freedom and economic growth in industrial as well as nonindustrial nations. To gain further insight into the issue of causality, the Granger causality methodology which spans across two time series, namely X and Y, was used. Results demonstrate that specific policy-growth relationships occur across countries to enhance economic performance and policy decisions.
