The blocking legislation as a countermeasure to the US Anti-Dumping Act of 1916: A comparative analysis of the EC and Japanese damage recovery

Article Abstract:

The US Anti-Dumping Act of 1916 has been the basis for lawsuits filed by US entities in the US against Japanese and EC companies as well as by the exporters of those countries against the US. In one such instance, Japan and the EC filed a case against the United States for violation of the relevant WTO (World Trade Organization) Agreements by the 1916 Act, a dispute that has remained unsolved since 1998 in spite of the WTO confirming the US violation.

Circumvention and anti-circumvention in anti-dumping practice: a new problem in China's outbound trade

Article Abstract:

The increasing imposition of anti-circumvention investigations and measures against Chinese products under E.U. and U.S. anti-dumping regulations is discussed. Suggestions are provided for China to develop better strategies to deal with circumvention and anti-circumvention issues in exports.
