The heretical remnant and modernist religion

Article Abstract:

Modernism is the dominant religion of the present society. This religion is propagated by both the public servants and the intellectual community. Some of the major tenets of this religion, which disregard moral responsibility, include personal sovereignty, subjectivity and autonomous intellect. Modernism reduces the idea of community to sheer mechanism because this religion devalues human meaning and views the human being as a biological robot. Due to its negative consequences, it is necessary to openly confront the multiple reductionisms of modernism.

Schoolmasters

Article Abstract:

Influential school masters at Deerfield Academy are described. Frank Boyden completely revitalized the school during the 60 years he was there. He was firm, yet gentle, with the children and he had a talent for discovering the good in a child and making it stronger. His wife, Helen Childs Boyden, brought her own innate goodness to the school and seemed to take an interest in all the students, even after their graduation. Finally, Mr Pidgeon took a warm interest in students through his Latin classes and his coaching.

Responsibility to the sign

Article Abstract:

The influence of Professor Robert Hunter West is described. West was an authority on Milton and Shakespeare, as well as on the occult. He brought to his profession a passion for the right word, rightly used, and a resistance to the corruption of the English language. His integrity and open interest extended to everything, both visible and invisible, that he encountered and was reflected in his written works, such as 'Shakespeare and the Outer Mystery.'
