The political theory of organizations and business ethics

Article Abstract:

The political theory of organizations explains different aspects of managerial authority in organizations. The exercise of managerial authority influences the selection of managerial policies and the unity of action in the organization. The agency model depicts employees as obedient agents of the organization who are contracted to serve. Another model suggests that managerial authority should be based on collective rationality. Business ethics make judgments about managerial practice from a moral viewpoint.
