Reflections on the speical safeguard provision in the Agreement on Agriculture of the WTO

As a result of liberalization measures taken during the Uruguay Round, the agricultural sector of the WTO implemented temporary protective measures under the Special Safeguard (SSG) provision. Several modifications to the SSG are suggested.
