World trade disputes settlement and the exhaustion of local remedies rule

Article Abstract:

The exhaustion of local remedies rule in World Trade Organization's dispute settlement system is a generally accepted principle in international law. The absence of precedence regarding the treatment of goods does not preclude the inapplicability of said rule, since the concept of local remedies is traditionally used in the treatment of private parties. However, claims by member states should be treated as diplomatic, unless it is otherwise provided.
