Adolescent suicide and suicidal behavior

Article Abstract:

The descriptive epidemiology, risk and protective factors for youth suicide and suicidal behavior are examined, which ensues as a result of an interaction of socio-cultural, developmental, psychiatric, psychological, and family environmental matters. Clinical management and public health approaches to the reduction in youth suicide and recommendations for further research on the genetic and neurobiology of early-onset suicidal behavior and related endophenotypes are also discussed.

Predictor of attributions of self-blame and internalizing behavior problems in sexually abused children

Article Abstract:

A study conducted to identify predictors of two sequelae of child sexual abuse, self-blame attributes and internalizing behavior problems. It was suggested with the help of results that different child and abuse characteristics predict the two sequelae often associated with childhood sexual abuse.

Maternal behavior predicts infant cortisol recovery from a mild everyday stressor

Article Abstract:

The cortisol responses of three-month-old infants to a mild everyday stressor were observed in relation to how the mothers behaved towards them. The results show the importance of social processes for physiological recovery from stressful situations faced by infants daily.
