Age differences in neophilia, exploration, and innovation in family groups of callitrichid monkeys

Article Abstract:

The positive or negative relationships of age with neophilia, exploration, and innovation, were examined by presenting novel extractive foraging tasks to family groups of callitrichid monkeys in zoos. Results indicated that exploration and innovation are positively correlated with age, reflecting adult's greater manipulative competence.

Social organization of black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus bieti) at Dequin, China

Article Abstract:

A study describing the social organization of two bands of black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys whenever they crossed open areas at Dequin, China, is presented. Results revealed that multimale/multifemale units and monogamous units all traveled together with at least one all-male unit as a cohesive band.

A preliminary study of food transfer in Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana)

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted on a semi-captive group of Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys to observe the patterns of food transfer among them. Results suggest that the monkeys exhibit high social tolerance in their social relationships which makes transfer of food possible.
