Age of acquisition and word frequency in written picture naming

Article Abstract:

This article examines how word frequency and age of acquisition, or the age at which a word was learned, effects performance on picture naming tasks. Findings indicate that word frequency does not influence picture naming speed but words learned early in life are recalled faster in both written and verbal conditions.

The effects of divided attention on encoding and retrieval processes: the resiliency of retrieval processes

Article Abstract:

This study investigates the attentional differences in encoding and retrieval processes in memory. Results indicate that the division of attention at encoding has a significantly detrimental effect on memory performance but retrieval is not affected by the introduction of a secondary task.

The processing of interlexical homographs in translation recognition and lexical decision: support for non-selective access to bilingual memory

This study examines the processing of lexical homographs in bilingual individuals. Four experiments made use of lexical decision and translation recognition tasks to gain insight into the organization and access of separate language systems in the bilingual memory.
