Children's Attributional Style Questionnaire-Revised: psychometric examination

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to study the psychometric characteristics of the Children's Attributional Style Questionnaire-Revised (CASQ-R) and to determine whether this shortened scale can serve as a reliable and valid substitute for the original CASQ. Focus of the study was on internal consistency reliability, criterion-related validity and test-retest reliability. Mean differences were tested across race, age and gender. Results indicate that the CASQ-R had a good criterion-related validity, fair test-retest reliability and moderate internal consistency reliability.
