Comparison of barriers self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control for explaining physical activity across 1 year among adolescent girls

Article Abstract:

The barriers self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control as predicators of change are compared in order to explain the physical activity amongst a sample of African American girls and fair-skinned American girls. The results indicate that self-efficacy could not predict the change in moderate or vigorous physical activity whereas perceived behavioral control could be considered as an independent predictor of change in vigorous physical activity levels.
