Day and night wetting in children - a paediatric and child psychiatric perspective
Article Abstract:
Enuresis and urinary incontinence consists of a heterogeneous group of disorders that vary in etiology, clinical symptoms, pathophysiology and therapy. Causes have been identified as urinary tract infection, vesico-ureteral-reflux and detrusor-sphincter-dyscoordination, including genetic and endocrine involvement. Urge incontinence and behavioral symptoms have been identified as the most common symptoms. The first-choice of therapy is alarm treatment with a reported 66% of success rate compared to pharmacological means.

The development of memory
Article Abstract:
Studies of children's memory function and of new theories of memory are imperative to increased understanding of memory development. Research on children's short-term memory, phonological memory, visuospatial memory, episodic and metamemory reveals that such aspects demonstrate considerable change from infancy through the preschool period and on to early school years. Another interesting finding was that children over seven years of age have memory functions that are almost adult-like in organization and strategies.
