Dietary patterns in perrier's sifakas (propithecus diadema perrieri): a preliminary study

Article Abstract:

A study was made with a main goal to determine the way habitat variation influences dietary patterns in Perrier's sifakas that range into both dry and riparian forest in northern Madagascar. 542 hr of data was collected on the behavior and diet of two groups of perrieri from 7June to 4 August 1998 at camp Antobiratsy in Analamera special reserve, Madagascar.

Sex differences in scent marking in propithecus edwarsi of Ranomafana National Park, Madagascar

Article Abstract:

The ability of season, dominance status, and natal status were examined to explain the frequency of scent marking in female sifakas living wild in Ranomafana National Park, Madagascar with results compared with those published for males. The result suggests that scent marks may convey important information about status.

Patterns of female dominance in Propithecus diadema edwardsi of Ranomafana National Park, Madagascar

Article Abstract:

The status of female dominance in Milne-Edwards' sifaka (Propithecus diadema edwardsi), a diurnal lemur is investigated. The distribution, outcome, and context of intersexual aggressive interactions are studied in four groups of wild sifaka.
