Forty years of group psychotherapy at the Menninger Clinic

Article Abstract:

The staff and administration of the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas with a few clinicians have forged ahead in pursuit of incorporating the modality of group psychotherapy, as an accepted treatment. Since the group treatment began to be adopted by units of the Menninger Hospital, in the early 1970s, there has been a significant sea change in the attitude of the organization and group psychotherapy became a well established modality.

The ethical group psychotherapist: A coda

Article Abstract:

Various problems wherein group psychotherapists face ethical dilemmas, which are inextricably tied together, are discussed. It is strongly felt that individual practitioner along with educations and training programs and professional organizations must make a commitment to the ethical practice of group psychotherapy.

Too close for comfort: The impact of dual relationships on group therapy and group therapy training

Article Abstract:

The impact of dual relationships between group members in the particular instance of analytic training institutes is studied. The findings suggest three ways by which extra-group contact can disrupt the balance between reality and transference distortion in group interactions.
