Growth and developmental outcomes of three high-risk infant rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta)

Article Abstract:

The early growth and developmental data are presented on three high-risk infant rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) that were born either with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) or extremely prematurely. The survival of these infants have depended on a 24-hour staffed nursery and a fluid protocol that catered to each high-risk infant's individual needs and they have served as an excellent model for high-risk human infants and their subsequent development.

Effect of glycerol and dimethyl sulfoxide on cryopreservation of rhesus monkey(macaca mulatta) sperm

Article Abstract:

The effect of glycerol and dimethyl sulfoxide cryoprotectants at different concentrations on rhesus monkey sperm cryopreservation is examined. One of the results showed that the highest recovery of postthaw sperm mobility and plasma membrane was achieved when the sperm was frozen with 5% glycerol.
