Guangxi on the precipice: drug abusers behavior and the nascent spread of HIV in one Chinese region

Article Abstract:

The progression of HIV/AIDS is more apparent in Asia than any other place on earth. The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China is on the verge of a predicated HIV explosion. Researchers in a study found that broad policy changes are necessary to contain the spread of this disease. They surveyed 103 drug users undergoing detoxification treatments and discussed their findings.

The effects of parent education on parental locus of control and satisfaction of incarcerated fathers

Article Abstract:

A study of inmate fathers found that parenting classes increased their efficacy in producing desirable outcomes in their children. Many incarcerated fathers are products of ineffective parenting, so they require education in parenting skills to break this pattern. Inmates who retain family ties outside of prison are less likely to acquire a criminal identity.

Determinants of expectation of treatment efficacy among incarcerated substance abusers

Article Abstract:

An investigation was conducted to examine the influence of social support, inmate preincarceration characteristics, and participation in a rehabilitation program on incarcerated substance abusers' expectations of their prerelease adjustment. The investigation demonstrated that social support is an effective means of inmate integration back into the society.
