High rates of pregnancy among vocational school students: results of audio computer-assisted self-interview survey in Chiang Rai, Thailand

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted, with the computer-assisted self-interview, to examine the prevalence of and factors associated with pregnancy and abortion among vocational school students in northern Thailand. The result from the study reveals that 48 percent of the male and 43 percent of the female students reported ever having had sexual intercourse.

Risk-taking behavior among high school students in South Korea

Article Abstract:

A study of high school students in South Korea confirms that more students are participating in risk taking behavior. While only 11% of students reported having had sexual intercourse, 43% drank alcohol regularly and 32% were smokers. Statistics show that teenagers in Seoul were more likely to participate in risky behavior.

Resilient students' goals and motivation

Article Abstract:

This study examines the motivation of resilient students who achieve academically despite being economically or socially disadvantaged. Psychological tests show that these students have strong self-concept and motivation scores. Schools to to provide an environment to help these children to continue to succeed.
