Household chaos--Links with parenting and child behavior

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to confirm findings that showed links between household chaos and parenting in addition to examining whether household chaos was predictive of children's behavior over and above parenting. It is concluded that household chaos is able to work in an additive way and predict children's problem behavior over and above parenting and is particularly potent when in combination with less positive/more negative parenting.

Randomized controlled trial of a parenting intervention in the voluntary sector for reducing child conduct problems: Outcomes and mechanisms of change

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of a parenting intervention, delivered in a community-based voluntary-sector organization, for reducing conduct problems in clinically-referred children is tested. It is suggested that a reduction in conduct problems and enhancing parenting skills in a community voluntary-sector setting can be brought about by group-based cognitive-behavioral parenting program delivered by well-trained and supervised staff.
