Incarcerated mother's contact with children's, perceived family relationship and depressive symptoms

Article Abstract:

Concurrent relationships among contact with children, perceived family relationships, early experiences in relationships discontent and trauma and maternal depressive symptoms were examined. The results highlight the need for mental health service for incarcerated women and suggest that interventions aimed at increasing contacts between imprisoned mothers and their children should consider the quality of the mother-caregiver relationship.

Relations between children's attachments to their mothers and to security blankets

Article Abstract:

Blanket-attached, maternally avoidant children may have relied on blankets as support to ease distress during separation. The result of a study conducted in this regard reveals that although avoidantly attached children are conflicted during separation from their mother, they appear better able than securely attached children to use inanimate objects to remedy their discomfort.
