Integrative family therapy for disputes involving child custody and visitation

Article Abstract:

This article examines attempts to minimize family stress during times of conflict and divorce through effective family therapy that addresses issues of child custody and visitation. An integrative, multi-level therapy approach is described that includes goal setting, alliance building, interventions, and incorporating the legal system.

A meta-analytic review of the influence of pediatric cancer on parent and family functioning

Article Abstract:

A meta-analytic method analyzes the functioning and psychological distress of parents of cancer affected children. Parents of children newly diagnosed with cancer have greater distress than comparison samples.

Negative effects on family functioning from psychosocial treatments: a recommendation for expanded safety monitoring

Article Abstract:

The article reviews three studies to examine the efficacy of psychosocial treatments on family functioning with vulnerable populations. There is need to ensure safety for any negative side effects on families.
