Introductory guide to the language of molecular genetics

Article Abstract:

An insight into a range of studies representing some of the variety of work being done using molecular genetic approaches to understand aspects of child mental health is presented. The results reveal that genotyping approaches that offer high efficiency, thus allowing for large numbers of genotypes of large numbers of individuals, are likely to be introduced.

I think, therefore I am: A twin study of attributional style in adolescents

Article Abstract:

Attributional style, depression symptoms and parental disciplinary styles were studied in over 1300 adolescent twin and sibling pairs. Results revealed moderate genetic influences on attributional style and its association with depression reflected genetic effect, indicating that attributional style is influenced by genetic as well as social factors.

Introductory guide to the statistics of molecular genetics

Article Abstract:

The two main analytical approaches used by molecular geneticists, such as linkage and association are presented. The basis of linkage is the transmission of a marker along with a disease within families, whereas association is based on the comparison of marker frequencies in case and control groups.
