John N. Buck (1906-1983): did he practically establish clinical psychology in Virginia?

Article Abstract:

John N. Buck became a noted expert in the construction of personality tests and their use in diagnosis of mental illness and deficiencies, in personnel and counseling and in training programs even though he was a paraplegic with no college degree and little formal training in psychology. He developed the House-Tree-Person Projective Technique and was a member of the first Examining Board for the Certification of Clinical Psychologists.

Clinical diagnosis and MCMI codetypes

Article Abstract:

A thorough review of the psychological literature on the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI) was conducted to create a table of disorders associated with certain MCMI profile codetypes. The resulting table shows MCMI codes for a wide range of clinical syndromes, personality disorders, and various neuroses and psychoses. Some 400 MCMI citations form the basis for the table.
