Juvenile crime and responses to delinquency in Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed regarding Hong Kong's juvenile crime trend and the responses to juvenile delinquency since the 1970s. The main theme is the influence of changing conceptions of the causes of juvenile crime on delinquency control policies. The heavy emphasis on the use of imprisonment over community-based programs is also discussed.

Residential treatment programs for young offenders in Hong Kong: a report

Article Abstract:

The article discusses what young ex-juvenile delinquents say about their experience of juvenile detention homes and Hongkong's detention center. Some saw their residential experiences as a time to grown out of crime and to reevaluate their family relationships. An outline for further research or policy evaluation is given.

School bullying and tackling strategies in Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

A study of the prevalence, causes and tackling strategies of school bullying, which is a rising problem of the school bullying in Hong Kong is endeavored. It is noted that unresolved school bullying problems are often a precursor of school violence and delinquency.
