Youth violence: An exploratory study of a treatment program in a central Illinois County

Article Abstract:

'OPTIONS' program is designed for youths who displayed threatening or abusive behaviors, particularly toward family members. The characteristics of juveniles and their families are described, who were referred to the program and if the program participation helped reduce the severity of violence and improve the communication skills among program participants.

Definitions of and beliefs about wife abuse among undergraduate students of social work

Article Abstract:

The definitions of and beliefs about wife abuse among undergraduate social work students in Israel are examined. The results have important implications for social work education, and ways to identify students having patriarchal beliefs should be devised, and attitudes changed to instill a positive approach toward abused women.

Comprehensive evaluation: a holistic approach to evaluating domestic violence offender programmes

Article Abstract:

The insights to be gained by assessing the contribution of several potential mediating variables of the treatment process in evaluation of domestic violence offender programmes are guessed. It is also argued that the focus on behavioral outcomes in these programmes has been too narrow.
