Making telehealth a viable component of our national health care system

Article Abstract:

Telehealth holds great potential in delivering health care to rural and underserved areas. It can lead to high-quality medical care at lower costs for consumers. It will also allow rural physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses which are presently being handled only by specialists. This, in turn, will make rural medicine more attractive to physicians and health care providers. Telehealth is fast becoming an essential part of the US national health care system and as much as 30% of rural hospitals will be using telehealth services in 1999.

Organizational behavior management in early intervention: status and implications for research and development

Article Abstract:

Organizational behavior management (OBM) may be applied to early intervention (EI) services provided to young children with disabilities. A review of the literature on the application of OBM in the early intervention environment revealed that very little literature available in which both OBM and EI are discussed. However, the importance of OBM interventions in EI situations is indicated and reports of approximations of OBM applications in EI provide models that could encourage interest in future research.
