Masked repetition priming and word frequency effects across different types of Japanese scripts: an examination of the lexical activation account

Article Abstract:

Masked repetition priming effects for Japanese words across different types of scripts are examined to decide whether they might be better explained in terms of orthographic rather than lexical structures. The results are discussed in terms of the possiblity of the priming effects in the tasks of lexical decision and naming.

Are phonological effects fragile? The effect of luminance and exposure duration on form priming and phonological priming

Article Abstract:

The process of phonological computation in masked priming was examined with the focus on the pseudohomophone test. The results suggested that the phonological priming effects for brief exposure durations are robust and the effects are seen across a wide range of SOAs and luminance conditions.

The role of polysemy in masked semantic and translation priming

Article Abstract:

The translation priming asymmetry in bilingual masked priming literature is well-known. A Sense Model is proposed, which attributes the priming asymmetry to the natural consequence of a representational asymmetry in semantic representations.
