Parent- child relationships as systems of support or risk for adolescent suicidality

Article Abstract:

Extensive research suggests that parental depression is associated with hostile or ineffective parenting, which can, in turn, increase the risk for adolescent suicidality and for this, a process model of predicting adolescent suicidality is examined. Adolescent emotional distress is hypothesized to mediate the relationship between parental behaviors and subsequent adolescent suicidality.

Parent and child reports of sleep problems associated with early-onset bipolar spectrum disorders

Article Abstract:

The parent and child agreement, frequency and severity of early-onset bipolar spectrum disorders (EBSD)-related manic, depressive, and comorbid sleep problems, are studied. As per findings, dimensional and categorical measures showed low agreement and high discrepancy between parent and child reports of EBSD sleep problems.
