Physical child harm and bullying-related behaviors: A comparative study in Japan, South Africa, and the United States

Article Abstract:

A study, due to the seriousness and extensiveness of bullying behavior in three countries, Japan, South Africa and the U.S. is conducted on a comparative basis focusing on the family as a possible additional locus for origins of bullying behaviors. Results show that the way in which physically harmed children cope with their early victimization affected their subsequent involvement with bullying related behaviors.

Issues regarding the clinical use of the classification of violence risk (COVR) assessment instrument

Article Abstract:

A study on the Classification of Violence Risk (COVR) assessment instrument of hospitalized psychiatric patients' with a risk of behaving violently following discharge is conducted. Results show that the COVR assessment instrument may be used with caution by clinicians to assess the violence risk of discharged psychiatric patients.
