Predicting posttraumatic growth in breast cancer survivors

Article Abstract:

A wide variability exists with respect to how breast cancer survivors respond to common psychological and psychosocial challenges of their diseases, ranging from posttraumatic stress disorder to posttraumatic growth and the cross-sectional study examined contextual, disease-related and intraindividual predictors of posttraumatic growth. The goal is to provide health care professional to breast cancer, rather than focusing primarily on the negative consequences.

Persistent symptoms among survivors of Hodgkin's Disease: an explanatory model based on classical conditioning

Article Abstract:

This article investigates the psychological factors involved in persistent distress, nausea, and vomiting induced by reminders of previous cancer treatments in Hodgkin's disease survivors. The symptoms were associated with reports of side effects during actual treatments and time since recovery which suggest that the symptoms are related to classical conditioning.

The impact of group psychological interventions on distress in infertile women

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral group therapy on stress alleviation in women who have tried to conceive a child for up to two years. Results indicate that participation in the cognitive-behavioral group intervention resulted in significantly reduced levels of distress and improvements in well-being within a year.
